Francis Sullivan to visit Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle

On Wednesday 25 February, CEO of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council Francis Sullivan will visit the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle to conduct two information sessions for staff, volunteers, parishioners and the local community.

It is hoped these sessions will give people of the diocese and region the opportunity to ask any questions they may have in relation to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Bishop Bill Wright will also be in attendance.

The two information sessions will be held at the Victor Peters Suite, near the Diocesan Offices, 841 Hunter Street, Newcastle West. The first session (which is open to the media) will begin at 10am and the second, afternoon session will start at 12:45pm. It is expected these sessions will run for just over an hour, with time allowed for open discussion. No RSVP is necessary for members of the community to attend these sessions.

The Truth, Justice and Healing Council was established in recognition of the importance of the Royal Commission and the imperative for the Church to address the past openly and honestly, the good with the bad. CEO Francis Sullivan has traveled to numerous locations across Australia since his appointment, keeping people informed about the work of the Council and developments with the Royal Commission.
