We are surrounded by information, from the internet and social media to roadside advertising signs, and of course, books. Traditionally, children as learners were consumers of this information. Teachers and libraries were the font of all knowledge.

There’s an old saying, “If you can’t beat them, join them” and this is what we did at St Patrick’s Primary School, Cessnock when it came to keeping children out of our gardens. We put in paths made up of stepping-stones that allow the children to enjoy the gardens, while reducing their impact on this precious habitat.
Just as St Joseph’s Primary School, Wingham prepared to celebrate St Joseph’s Day, COVID-19 thwarted the plans and hard work setting up for our special Feast Day. Our community was sent into a new way of living and a new way of education.
