Bulahdelah barks up right tree

Students from St Joseph’s, Bulahdelah, were happy to get their hands dirty on Friday 31 July, when they celebrated National Schools Tree Day.

Our day consisted of planting various nativeand shade trees, along with some in-class activities. MidCoast Council kindly donated 18 plants for the celebration

Students from our little early starters, right up to Year 6, were involved in the event. They were taken up to the playground in small groups to help dig, plant and water the trees.

Supporting National Schools Tree Day is important to our school community. It provides an opportunity to build students’ awareness of their environment, and reinforce the importance of protecting it.

Staff and students thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the day and having the opportunity to participate in helping plant the trees around our school grounds. After getting our hands dirty, we look forward to watching our greenery grow.
