101 days of kindergarten

The youngest cohort at St Aloysius, Chisholm celebrated an incredible milestone on Friday 14 August – 101 days of school.

To celebrate the teachers and children thought of a creative but truly fitting costume of black polka dots to resemble the puppies from the movie, 101 dalmatians.

Throughout the day, they engaged in many fun activities including creating a crown, hunting for sight word bones and drawing what they think they will look like when they are 101! A local business, Confetti Party Hire, generously donated a balloon garland that provided much joy for the children. School principal, Mr Diggins, joined in the special day by wearing spotty socks and a spotty tie. He read one of his favourite stories, ‘My mum and dad are funny’ to the students.

Coordinator and kindergarten teacher, Sonia Walters said how grateful the teachers are for the support and involvement of families in making the day such a success.  The children looked fantastic and had a wonderful day!

It was important for us to celebrate 101 days of kindergarten because our students have faced many challenges this year and throughout this ever changing time have kept playing, learning  and growing together. Through it all with big smiles on their little faces.  We are very appreciative of the parents support this year with little or no face to face access to teachers and school. They have embraced our different modes of learning and communication and we are very thankful for their support.
