St Catherine’s success at the Merriwa Cattle Show

The Cattle Show Team from St Catherine’s Catholic College, Singleton attended the recent Merriwa Show with a team of nine stud heifers.

For many team members, this was their first ever show and they all did a wonderful job to get themselves and their animal show ready in a short space of time.

There is a strong team spirit within this group and it was heartening to see the help and support the students give each other.

Matilda Ledger was named the Grand Champion Parader! Her beautiful smile and the way she handled her often contrary heifer, saw her stand out from the crowd.

Tamzin Joisce came second in her age group final. Watching Tamzin exhibit her heifer was a joy, showing such positivity and an obvious love of what she does.

Abby Carroll won her age group final and then came fourth in overall Champion Parade. Abby is new to showing and she is getting better and more confident with every outing.

Logan Carter made the finals of the Junior Judging and spoke with such confidence into the microphone.

Ryan Bolam made the Senior Junior Judging final and he is developing a very keen eye for assessing cattle.

A big thank you goes to Amelia Sternbeck who is one of the hardest workers on our team. Amelia sees something that needs doing or someone that needs help and just gets it done. We all very much appreciate all that she does.

Thank you also to Michelle Bryant for taking and sharing some fantastic photos and to Bruce Sternbeck for trucking our cattle up and back to Merriwa; your support is much appreciated.

Finally, thank you to all the parents who helped and who support their children to be part of our show team.
