Getting arty at St Peter’s Stockton

St Peter’s Primary School, Stockton celebrated its inaugural Art Show on Tuesday 24 September in their school hall.

The event was the culmination of a term’s project, which featured lessons given by Artist in Residence, Rachel Milne.

Students were exposed to a variety of skills and media and then went on to produce individual canvases, as well as a joint class artwork.

The evening opened with a performance by the school choir and a Year 6 music group.

Artworks were displayed in the school hall and during the evening, a variety of art activities were set up in the playground to keep students entertained while parents enjoyed the event.

“It was amazing to see the talent displayed by our students,” said Project Coordinator, Mrs Jane Boyd.

“The pure enjoyment evident in each lesson, as well as the high standard of work has made the project a very valuable learning experience for our students.

“We especially thank our P&F Association for assisting the school to fund the project.”
