St Joseph’s Merriwa Working Bee proves a huge success

It is always great when there is a significant turnout for any school’s first working bee of the year – and that is exactly what happened at St Joseph’s Primary School, Merriwa.

Despite the chilly morning, families and teachers joined forces to roll up their sleeves to trim trees, pull out weeds and sweep verandas – all part of their unstinting efforts to beautify the school grounds and surrounds.

As a result of the working bee, the school’s sand pit has been rejuvenated so students are now able to get back to enjoying the play area this term.

Students will also reap the future benefits of the Parents & Friends’ vegetable garden which also received much care and attention during the working bee.

A morning of work followed by a morning tea - provided by the teachers of St Joseph’s – meant it wasn’t all hard work and no play.

The school would like to thank all of the families and teachers for their fantastic efforts and for their dedication in completing the many tasks on the day.

The wonderful results of your work have to be seen to be believed!
