Mission Fun Day at Rosary Park Branxton

Rosary Park Catholic School, Branxton recently held its annual Mission Fun Day to raise money for Catholic Mission.

Organised and run by the school’s Year 6 Mini Vinnies Team, the day was full of fun activities including cake and lolly stalls, a hair and nail station, various games and guessing competitions.

The day concluded with a special concert by Mr Richard Cootes, School Liaison Officer for Catholic Mission. After singing with the students, Richard had a discussion with the students and played video clips to show the students where the money raised would be going and how it would help to change the lives of those less fortunate.

The Mission Fun Day helps students to learn how lucky many of them are to find out ways they can make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than themselves around the world.

The day also enables the senior students to build skills in leadership and organisation. This because the senior students are responsible for developing and facilitating the day – ranging from organising the day to counting the money at the end.

The school raised an amazing $1,500 to donate to Catholic Mission.

It is wonderful to see the spirit of giving and the desire to help others in need in our school community.

The parents, staff and students at Rosary Park come together each year to support this worthy cause and it is such a privilege to be a part of this fund raising effort.
