Celebrating All Saints’ Day

The community of All Saints’ College, Maitland recently came together to celebrate the Feast of All Saints’ – All Saints’ Day.

All Saints’ Day is a holy day for the Catholic Church that celebrates and honours all saints.

Held at St Peter's Campus, the Mass was presided by Fr Joyce Sebastian, Fr Camillus Nwahia and Deacon John Lovell and was organised by a number of teachers, support staff and students.

A big thank you goes to Eva Frize, CAPA Coordinator at St Peter’s Campus, who was accompanied by Peter Bottaro, St Peter’s Music teacher, and Year 9 Music students for providing the music for the event.

Beginning with an Acknowledgment of Country, the Universal Prayer acknowledged and prayed for those throughout the College community including teachers, students, friends and family, before being followed by the Eucharist.

After the Mass, students were given an extended recess which gave those from Year 7 to 11 an opportunity to mingle with one another.

“Despite the warm weather, the day was a wonderful occasion for staff and students from both campuses to come together and celebrate the College feast day of All Saints,” said Michael Fuller, Assistant Principal of All Saints’ College.

“The attendance of both Father Joyce and Father Camillus, along with Deacon John, added to the Eucharistic celebration and was very much appreciated by the entire community.”
