Creating industry-ready students at All Saints’ College, St Mary’s Campus

The VET (Vocational Education and Training) faculty at All Saints’ College, St Mary’s Campus, is not only helping prepare its students for the workforce, but providing an additional unit of study towards their HSC.

VET courses can deliver a dual accreditation, meaning a VET course can give a Certificate 2 qualification and provide two units of study towards the HSC.

This additional qualification gives those students wanting to enter the workforce an advantage over others, with VET providing employability skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, planning and organising, self-management, learning and technology.

St Mary’s Campus offers a number of elective study areas in the VET field for students including Retail Services, Business Services, Hospitality, Construction and Electro Technology.

VET courses are presented at St Mary’s Campus by teachers who have undertaken additional training to become qualified in this area.

The courses are competency-based so students’ assessment is focused on displaying both knowledge and practical skills.

St Mary’s Campus has historically been known for its quality teaching of Construction, Hospitality and Electro Technology. The college’s Business and Retail Services courses have also gained  popularity over  recent years.

Students with multiple interests within the VET field can  undertake a number of courses concurrently as a part of their senior studies.
