The Diocese has appointed Scott Donohoe as Foundation Principal of Catherine McAuley Catholic College, Medowie.
“I envisage building a vibrant, collaborative Catholic community, grounded in the values of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy, and I am inspired to ensure the vision becomes a reality,” said Mr Donohoe.
Mr Donohoe believes that a successful school is based on the belief that all members of the community are building something unique.
“Formulating the vision of a Catholic school requires strong leadership and a team effort,” said Mr Donohoe.
Mr Donohoe will begin his role as Foundation Principal in January 2019 and is looking forward to working with the local community to build a strong, dynamic and collaborative culture at the college.
Director of Schools, Dr Michael Slattery, said he was “excited to announce to all that Mr Donohoe had been the successful applicant.”
Mr Donohoe is currently Principal of San Clemente High School, Mayfield, a role he has held for the past three years.
Mr Donohoe joined the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle in 2012 as Assistant Principal (Wellbeing) at San Clemente and prior to this has held senior roles at Knox Grammar School, Aiglon College (Switzerland) and St Joseph’s College, Hunters Hill.
He has a Masters’ degree in Leadership & Management (UON), a Graduate Certificate in Theology (BBI) and a Bachelor of Secondary Education (USYD).
Scott is an active Eucharistic member of All Saints Parish, Blackbutt South, where he supports the Children’s Liturgy, and was highly recommended by his parish priest, Fr Terry Horne, who wrote, “Scott has the ideal qualities and enthusiasm for the position of Principal of Catherine McAuley Catholic College.”
