GALLERY: Chisholm lights up

The students and staff of St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm, came together on Wednesday evening to showcase what they are all about…community, education and loads of talent!

In the bright lights of their brand new college, guests were welcomed by Year 7 students and invited to the Flexible Learning Village for a Welcome to Country, prayer, a Principal’s address and a music showcase, as CAPA teacher, Michelle Burgess, led an impressive DioSounds medley.

With student works on display, visitors spent time exploring science projects, iSTEM activities, geography field sketching as well as enjoying a history guessing competition.

Parents were challenged to sit a NAPLAN test, whilst others were taken on a guided tour of the new college facilities.

The dedication and hard work of both teachers and students was evident in the quality of the student work and performances.

Principal John Murphy beamed with pride as he addressed the large crowd and congratulated the students and staff on their impressive commitment to their Catholic community, saying, “We are all part of something very special right here and I want to extend a special welcome to all our parents and guests here tonight.

“We are all looking forward to the official opening of the new building and the students first performance in DioSounds 2018.”

Classes are due to start in the new building on the first day in Term 3.
