SFX students receive educational scholarship

On Wednesday 21 February, five students from St Francis Xavier’s College, Hamilton, received an educational scholarship from The Mentor Support Network (MSN).

The scholarship is provided to support students who may be at risk of not completing their education due to difficult financial circumstances.

MSN is an organisation managed by volunteers who seek financial support from local community businesses. This financial support is then made available to deserving students in the form of an educational scholarship.

Applications for scholarships begin in September when students are asked to complete an application form, stating why they are applying and if successful, how they will use their scholarship money. Applications are then reviewed by the scholarship committee from MSN.

If successful, students will then be invited to participate in an interview with the scholarship committee. It is from here that successful applicants are notified and presentations take place at a ceremony in February of the following year.
