Following Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Sunday evening, families joined in the fun with a game of frisbee golf and a delicious BBQ and cake with the students.

“We feel that celebrating the Feast of St Joseph is very important for our school community. It is a time where we are able to reflect on St Joseph’s life and consider ways we can be more like him,” said Religious Education Coordinator, Renata Powell.

On Monday, Year 6 students took charge and organised an action-packed day of tabloid activities. From musical chairs to pin the nose on the teacher, to dodgeball, target throwing and javelin, it was a busy afternoon filled with much excitement.

However, the fun did not end there! At recess, Year 6 held a cake stall to raise money for Project Compassion with tasty cakes and cupcakes, followed by a lolly guessing competition.

A big congratulations went to the following winners, Ruby Watson, Oliver Cockle and Mrs Powell who impressed all with their guessing skills.

“In total, we were able to raise a considerable amount of money for Caritas. A commendable $120 was raised thanks to the efforts of Year 6 students, Stage 3 parents and all who helped make this occasion special for our community,” Mrs Powell said.    

“Celebrating the Feast of St Joseph was good today because we got to stop and think about the patron saint of our school,” said Year 6 student, Georgie Pringle.

“It was great to celebrate with our school community through prayer and play.”
