On Monday, March 6, local students seeking a Catholic education will be given the opportunity to commence their high school studies at either All Saints College, St Peter’s Campus, Maitland; St Joseph’s College, Lochinvar; or St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm. Senior students will also benefit from these new changes with two options available for Year 11 from January 2018 at All Saints College, St Mary’s Campus, Maitland and St Joseph’s College.
St Joseph’s College, who officially returned to their historic school name in February, is now also operating under a new school brand and crest in preparation for the expansion to include Year 11 from 2018 and 12 from 2019. Principal Paul Greaves said he is excited that the time for the school’s newest cohort to enrol has finally arrived.
“St Joseph’s will shortly be offering a comprehensive curriculum for students in Years 7 to 12, and in line with this, the school will also boast some exciting new and refurbished facilities including a new hall, new hospitality/food technology facilities, new café, refurbished science laboratories, refurbished music rooms and state-of-the-art TAS facilities,” Mr Greaves said.
Fifteen minutes down the road in the heart of Maitland, the All Saints College campuses are proud to be offering the same great 7 to 12 education that central Maitland has come to know and value since the 1800’s. St Mary’s Campus, the region’s only dedicated senior campus, is celebrating 150 years this September and will continue to offer a senior, flexible learning environment to students in Years 11 and 12. Due to the expansion of junior high school offerings in the region, St Peter’s Campus will have some additional places open for Year 7 enrolments that haven’t existed in recent years.
“With the opening of St Bede’s, students within and around the Maitland, East Maitland and Tenambit area will no longer need to compete with students from Chisholm and its surrounds for a place at St Peter’s Campus, Principal Bernard Burgess said. “This is great news for all those currently in Year 6 who would like to attend All Saints next year.”
Year 7 enrolments will also be opening next week at the Hunter’s newest Secondary Catholic College, St Bede’s. Set to open its doors in January 2018, construction is underway, with significant advancements to occur within the coming months. On March 21, the St Bede’s school brand and crest will be unveiled to parents at information sessions in East Maitland. The school will be a vibrant community of around 1,100 students that will encourage collaborative, team-based learning within a contemporary learning environment.
