GALLERY: St. Therese’s Primary School Gardening Group

Each week, 22 St Therese's Primary School students from Kindy to Year 6 work in the school's Garden Group.

For the past two years, students have worked on the garden and watched it thrive. In the group, students are involved in the whole gardening process - buying seedlings, mulching, managing the worm farm, watering, and best of all, harvesting.

Fresh fruit salad, winter soup and fried rice are just some of the delicious food students have been able to make from the garden produce. The Garden Group also sells produce at assembly, parents buying herbs and vegetables to take home.

St Therese's teacher Mrs Anne Twohill was the visionary behind the Garden Group. "Students choose to go to Garden Group over watching movies", staff member Mrs Dianne Galli said.

"The students love selling the produce - the whole school have taken part."
