The day commenced with lessons and activities promoting student and community well-being. These were followed by a community sausage sizzle complemented with salads and desserts provided by staff and families. Coffee and snow-cone vans were also present and all money raised will support the Mini Vinnies ‘assist a student’ program.
Following lunch the children and parents participated in a variety of activities such as face painting, manicures, science and craft activities, an obstacle course and computer games. The launch concluded with a wonderful liturgy and assembly. During the week, students were tasked with writing about, making or drawing a quality, skill or gift that they and their families contribute to the school. Several examples of the children’s work contributed to the concluding liturgy.
Member for Charlestown, Ms Jodie Harrison, and Ms Helene O’Neill, CSO Parish-Family Liaison Officer, also enjoyed the day. A highlight of the launch was the unveiling of the KidsMatter banner.
The launch was such a positive day for our whole school community and student, staff and family relationships were strengthened.
