GALLERY: St Paul’s Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal

St Paul’s Rutherford Mini Vinnies Team launched a hugely successful Winter Appeal in our school community this term. Our Mini Vinnies team represented our school at a Parish Mass at St. Paul’s Church on Sunday 14 June.

They were introduced to the Parish members and our Mini Vinnies President, Cameron Madden, spoke about the school’s efforts to help those in need in our local community. Our appeal culminated in a Pyjama Fun Day. The students brought in a donation of food, warm clothing or blankets in exchange for wearing their pyjamas to school. This highlighted the fact that many in our local community are in need of help to keep warm this winter.

The students also learned how acts of kindness and selflessness such as this can really warm the hearts of so many people in our chilly winter season. The appeal resulted in mountains of donations for St. Vincent de Paul to distribute to families in need. Our Mini Vinnies team has also started a knitting group. They are hoping to knit squares that can then be joined together to make a blanket for someone in need.

Well done to all in the St Paul’s community and thank you for your kindness and generosity!
