St Francis Xavier's bring "The Government Inspector" to the Civic Playhouse

On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 June, St Francis Xavier's College Hamilton will stage a performance of the acclaimed play "The Government Inspector" at the beautiful Civic Playhouse.

"The Government Inspector" is a farcical political satire written by Russian playwright Nikolai Gogol. The show tells the story of a corrupt rural town that whirlwinds into a panic when the news of an impending visit from a government inspector could result in the censure of political figures that all have had their hands in the till!

St Francis Xavier presents this wonderful farce (that mirrors modern political happenings!) with the traditions of circus and vaudeville featuring strongly in the production. A number of the cast are very active in the Newcastle theatre scene and the show is replete with talented and experienced performers. The performances will be held on at 7.30pm on Fri 12 and Sat 13th June.

Tickets can be purchased at Ticketek online or by calling 49 791 977. Cost is $22 for adults and $15 for concessions.
