GALLERY: Students Compete in Primary Schools Cross Country

More than 900 runners competed at the diocesan primary schools cross country event last Thursday at the Newcastle Jockey Club.

There were some impressive times on the day and some very close finishes. The top 8 in each division progress to the NSWCPS Championships at Sydney Motor Park in June.

The winners from each age category were Angus Anson Smith from St James Kotara South (8/9yrs), Sienna Newton from St John the Baptist Maitland (8/9yrs), Oscar Roberts from St Brigid’s Raymond Terrace (10yrs), Lilliane Samson from St Therese’s New Lambton (10yrs), Taye Cochrane and Ebony Extrem from St Joseph’s Taree (11yrs), Liam Dixon from St Joseph’s Merewether (12/13yrs), and Charlotte Pratt from St Kevin’s Cardiff (12/13yrs).

A huge thanks to the team managers, officials and Paul Humphries from H Events who all contributed to a great day. $150 was also raised for the Smiling Hearts Association for Children (SHAC) project in Cambodia. Below is a gallery of photos from the day. Photos courtesy of Joanne Isaac.
