Diocesan Public Speaking Competition

The 3rd annual Diocesan Public Speaking competition final was held in November at the Catholic Schools Office. Forty students from Kindergarten to Year 6 competed on the day.

The students received their topic on the day and had between 30 minutes to one hour to prepare. Students in Stage 2 & 3 also presented an impromptu speech for which they had ten minutes to prepare.

Adjudicators Peter McNair, Liz Bugbird and Jo Potts were very impressed with the high standard on display. Peter McNair claimed that the winner of the Stage 3 competition, Oliver Knaebler-Flynn from St Columbans in Mayfield, delivered the best speech he had ever adjudicated.

Congratulations to all the students who took part.
