On Friday 8 August, the MacKillop Parish Schools - St Joseph’s Charlestown and St Paul’s Gateshead, celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop by joining together in prayer and fun. St Joseph’s students were bussed down to their sister school at Gateshead where they united in prayer and reflected on the life of Mary MacKillop and her impact on our lives today.
The two schools then shared a sunny morning tea together on the playing fields. This was followed by a series of tabloid games played in mixed school grade groups, with the teachers and students enjoying each other’s company. A lovely day was had by all, with both schools looking forward to organising another joint gathering in the future.
