A talented group of 18 Boys represented the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese at the NSW Catholic Primary School Rugby Championships at Forbes. This event is one of the few that has both Polding and Mackillop regions trialling together.
Maitland-Newcastle selected two of the strongest teams to represent the Diocese for many years and it became obvious from their first games at the recent NSWCCC Football selections at Glenwood.
The Diocese’s strength in touch football was again on show this year, first at the selection trials in Week 1 of term, and then more recently at the championships at Port Macquarie from which three boys and two girls were selected in their respective Polding teams.
Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual event that encourages primary school children to walk to school. The national initiative informs families that they need to closely supervise their young children, in all road environments, holding hands when near or crossing the road.
